Fifty Shades Feckless: Chapter Eight

We start with a description of the architect, Gia Matteo. Like Elena, she's a blonde, so she must be evil. Basically, she's hot for Grey, and Ana doesn't like it. We get some casual interaction, and Gia touches Grey's arm. Ana realises that Gia makes Grey uncomfortable, and apparently she hasn't noticed this. Gia is at least a decent architect, suggesting plans that work for Ana. Grey gets called away by Taylor for a few minutes, and Ana grows a pair and tells Gia in no uncertain terms to stop trying to get with Grey, or she's fired. Gia gets with the program and sensibly backs off.
Afterwards, Ana and Grey talk. Jack hasn't been in his apartment for weeks, apparently. They talk about Gia, and then Grey manages to piss me off again.
"Ana, she's a sexual predator. Not my type at all."
Hmmm... no. NO. NOOOOO!
OK, I think what James meant there was 'she's forward and overbearing' (predator as in 'goes after those she wants'), but no matter what she meant, it's still wrong. OK, touching Grey was wrong (even without his aversion to touch), but otherwise, she's not exceptionally forward. This is such a Sue thing- they're punishing Gia for not being pure, perfect Ana, and writing off everyone who doesn't run from Grey as being a predator, even when he's such a Stu that every woman who's into men and not related to him is into him. Fuckers.
Ana and Grey finally talk about the name thing. She tells him that she feels railroaded (that's exactly what she said- is James a D&D fan, by chance?) and says that she wants independence, which is what her name means. She asks him if he'd change his name to Christian Steele to show that he belongs to her, and he says that if it meant that much to her, he'd do it. She asks if changing her name to Grey means that much to him, and when he confirms it, she agrees to do it. See, we need more of this.
Ana starts giving Grey a haircut, only for him to decide that he wants to fuck her instead. They fuck, and then afterwards, Ana goes to find a pair of scissors to cut Grey's hair. Um... shouldn't you have organised that beforehand?
Sorry, that would require logic and reason.
Anyway, Ana goes looking for scissors and discovers that Taylor and Mrs Jones are together. Huh. Grey does know about it, FTR, and it's no big deal. Ana cuts Grey's hair, they talk some more and go fuck. Sigh.
