Fifty Shades Feckless: Chapter Three
Dec. 18th, 2012 08:07 pmScratch that last post. Somewhat ironically, all it took was throwing up to make me feel better. The implications are myriad and unfortunate, but I didn't put them there, so stop staring at me like that.
OK, so this chapter begins with Ana being shocked- shocked, I say!- to discover that she has... hickeys.
Shocked gasp, please!
My God, her husband gave her lots of hickeys. The horror. OK, to be fair, they can be hard to cover up (looks at Eyes meaningfully) but Christ, they're not nuclear weapons.
She's got bruises/welts from the handcuffs, and she's pissed that he's given her all those hickeys despite never doing it before. Apparently, he's reverted to 'Primal Beast' mode (I hope to God at least one of you is a Borderlands 2 fan, or that joke will be wasted) and marked her like some bloody oversexed teenager. Eh, he is one at heart. We all know he never really grew up.
Ana throws a hairbrush at him and storms out, at which point he realises that she's pissed off. They scream at each other for a while and finally make up. And then (of course) there's sex.
The next day, she watches him shave and flashes back to London, where she shaved her pubic hair. He was (naturally) overjoyed, and then he reshaved her after determining that she missed a spot. Back in the present, Ana shaves his face, and then he suggests a drive to a French village to look (and possibly buy) some art. We also learn that they haven't begun work on their new house yet, and that Ana doesn't like the architect, who (like fucking everyone) is hot for Grey.
They go to the village, look at the art, and then have lunch. During lunch, Grey (out of nowhere) explains that he likes braiding Ana's hair because his birth mother let her play with his hair sometimes. Ana tells him that she likes him playing with her hair, and she tells him that she thinks he loved his birth mother. Grey doesn't talk for a while, and finally says that his early life is over and done with. Ana thinks it's bullshit.
They go for a stroll, and he buys her a platinum bracelet. On the way back, he gets a call from one of his workers, who tells him that there's been a fire in the server room at Grey House. Both Grey and Ana are worried, because it just may have been arson, and on that rather sombre note, the chapter ends.
That was Chapter Three. Ooooh.
