Fifty Shades Delusional: Chapter Fourteen
Oct. 19th, 2012 10:12 pmBada bing, bada boom...
Man, am I the only one who remembers all that discontinued Lush stuff? I miss Fairy Jasmine... *sniff*
Warning: this chapter contains weird incestuous bullshit.
Anyway! On to our new chapter!
Ana begs Grey to actually talk to her instead of being all quiet and shit, and he just asks her what she wants him to say. She ends up kneeling in front of him and actually telling him everything- she needs some actual time to think about stuff because she never gets any, and with everything that's happened since they met, she really needs that time. She was worried that he'd run off with Leila, and she won't leave him, because she really loves him. In addition, she still can't fathom why he's into her, and given that Leila can give him what he needs (sexually), she just got more worried.
Grey finally starts talking: he was scared out of his mind because his insane ex was threatening her, and he was feeling upset and guilty because Leila used to be mischievous and lively, and seeing her in her present state made him worry that he'd caused it. Completely understandable. Not to mention, he kept thinking that if Leila had hurt Ana, it would have been his fault- and when he told Ana to leave, she just wouldn't. Christ.
They reconcile, and then Grey finally tells Ana his big secret. Hold on to your hats, people.
His secret is this: He's a sadist with a hell of an Electra Complex- he likes to hurt submissives who look like his birth mother. Jesus Christ on a crutch.
How the fuck...
OK, I was going to say 'How the fuck can they have a healthy relationship when that's in his head?' but I remembered what book this is. Problem solved.
Ana thinks that it means that she really can't give him what he needs, but apparently her telling him that she loves him has semi-fixed it, 'cause now he can't stand the idea of hurting her (as in, with something like a cat-o-nine-tails or a whip as opposed to a simple spanking). After some more discourse, Ana remembers the photo of the oddly familiar woman on his bulletin board (Ha! Knew it'd be significant!) and realises that it must have been of his birth mother.
Grey thinks she'll leave, she tells him that she won't, and then she asks him what would convince him that she won't. Why, marrying him, of course!
Ana bursts into laughter, and then has to explain to Grey that his timing is terrible. She's not saying no, but she's not saying yes- she needs time to think about it. He makes her have some food, and she asks him what he was doing with Leila. The answer is giving her a bath and getting her some new clothes, because she was absolutely filthy. He doesn't have feelings for her, but he does care about her, and it was all he could do. I have to admit, that's actually kinda sad, seeing someone you care about so ground down that all you can do for them is get them clean and then get them the help you can't give them.
Ana's pretty pissed off over Grey giving Leila a bath. She blows up explosively at him, heads off to the bathroom and breaks down again, and then the chapter ends.
